H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Award – Årets Nybyggare of the Year

The Award recognizes talented entrepreneurs with a foreign background.

The award honors, celebrates and highlights immigrants who have founded businesses and have succeeded in developing and running a business with growth potential.

The award recipients are to be good role models and inspire entrepreneurship.

Criteria

“The Årets Nybyggare Award recognizes outstanding entreprenurs with an international background. It highlights first- and second-generation newcomers who have founded companies with growth potential.

Recipients must be strong role models and inspire entrepreneurship.
The company must have been operating for at least two (2) years and employ a minimum of four (4) full-time employees.

The recipient must be an founder and hold a leading role in the company.
Six regional committees each select three regional awardees. A national committee selects three national winners”.

Process

All candidates undergo an initial assessment based on publicly available information.

The most promising entrepreneurs in each region proceed to a more in-depth process where their journey, drive, and company are evaluated.

Regional finalists are then reviewed by PwC and assessed by a national committee, which selects the three entrepreneurs who receive H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Award at a ceremony at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
