H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Award – Årets Nybyggare of the Year

The Award recognizes talented entrepreneurs with a foreign background.

The award honors, celebrates and highlights immigrants who have founded businesses and have succeeded in developing and running a business with growth potential.

The award recipients are to be good role models and inspire entrepreneurship.

Criteria

The winner’s company must have been in operation for at least two years and have at least four full-time employees. The business must be run as a limited liability company.

The winner must be the founder of and have a leading role in the company.

The winner must also demonstrate their ability to overcome personal challenges and demonstrate courage, perseverance and resilience.

Process

Six regional committees and one national committee

Six regional committees and one national committee evaluate entrepreneurs based on the following criteria: entrepreneurial spirit, economic development, strategic direction, impact on the surrounding society, personal influence and innovation.

During the regional finals, finalists are selected in the categories: Årets Nystart, Årets Pionjär och Årets Unga Pionjär.

The finalists are then judged by the national committee who select the recipients of the H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf’s award.
